There are three changes that have come to Social Security benefits in 2022 that I want you to know about.
The first change, is that Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. They’re going up by 5.9% percent this year. So, if your benefit amount in 2021 was $1,000 for 2022, your benefit amount is going to be $1,059.
The second change is for SSI benefits for eligible individuals. The federal maximum benefit is now, raised to $841 and for into eligible individuals with a spouse, it’s $1261 a month.
The third change is that the maximum benefit for SSDI monthly benefits has increased to $4124 a month.
