You may want to gather those detailed medical records ahead of time that will document your symptoms, including test results and treatments over the course of time.
Additionally, asking your doctor to complete a residual functional capacity (RFC) form that details the impact that your chronic fatigue syndrome has on your ability to work can be helpful.
2. Keep a Detailed Symptom Journal and Activity Log
By documenting the nature and severity of your daily symptoms—including fatigue, pain, and cognitive issues—you not only help your doctors better understand and treat your condition, but it can also provide the Social Security Administration valuable evidence of your limitations over the course of time.

Some of the ways that this can be done include gathering statements from family, friends, and former co-workers about the way that your chronic fatigue syndrome affects your ability to work and function.
